Our work touches every corner of the state. The Olympic and Paralympic Games Office (OPGO) is the Queensland Government’s lead agency for Games coordination. OPGO oversees whole-of-government responsibilities and investment, ensuring Brisbane 2032 is delivered on time, on budget and with enduring legacy outcomes for all Queenslanders. As Executive Director, Policy and Operations, you will be at the centre of one of the most complex and high-profile policy environments in Australia. Reporting to the Deputy Director-General, you will lead the development and coordination of system-wide Games-related policy, budget oversight, and operational governance within OPGO. This influential leadership role spans policy, legislative coordination, departmental risk, corporate operations, whole of games budget and stakeholder engagement. In this role, you will: Lead policy and legislative development across multiple priority areas including First Nations, accessibility and inclusion, procurement and supply chain, and sustainability. Oversee the government’s investment in Brisbane 2032 and drive budget tracking, cost definition and reporting. Represent Queensland’s interests at the highest levels—Ministerial and Director-General forums, national intergovernmental bodies, and with Games partners. Provide governance and operational leadership across risk, finance, legal, HR, IT and procurement functions within OPGO. Lead the Secretariat for key Games oversight bodies including the Games Leadership Group and Games Executive Group. - Build and maintain strategic relationships with local, national and international partners such as the Brisbane 2032 Organising Committee, the IOC, IPC, AOC, and Paralympics Australia. - Foster a values-led culture of excellence, inclusion, and collaboration within a high-performing team.
